About Me

For the past 30 years Catherine has run her own Health and Beauty Clinic in Bristol. Whilst on a family holiday in Spain, 10 years ago, she bought some handmade silver jewellery from a local market to give as presents. Everyone loved it so the following year she extended her overdraft and brought home a small collection to sell in the Clinic. It sold out almost immediately and inspired her to attend a local silver smithing course, something she had always wanted to do.

Having trained as a nurse and started her own business fairly early on, she had never felt that her artistic potential had been reached, with the jewellery it just seemed to come naturally.

Following her 50th Birthday in October 2005 she finally had the confidence to launch her own range -
Catherine Amesbury Contemporary Jewellery Design
- just in time for Christmas!

Since then her collection has gone from strength to strength, now incorporating a bespoke Wedding Collection including Jewellery for the Bride and Gifts for the Bridesmaids -

Catherine is passionate about creating bespoke pieces and customers are offered the opportunity and are encouraged to become involved in the design process - see our Commissions Page for details.

She is very proud to have welcomed her daughter Carrie into the business after finishing college in 2009. Carrie has been involved making the jewellery since the age of sixteen and has an extraordinary talent for working creatively alongside Catherine.

Catherine travels the World to add to her extensive collection of Silver, Semi-Precious Stones, Swarovski Crystals and Cultured Freshwater Pearls which are the foundation for her designs.
